Your Chance to Nominate a Sainsbury's Star
- Join in the Search for the Nation's Favourite Sainsbury's colleague -
People in Medway can vote for their favourite Sainsbury's worker in a national competition. Following a huge response from customers to Sainsbury's inaugural ‘Your Sainsbury's Star' competition last year, the supermarket is once again running the scheme to recognise shop floor colleagues who go above and beyond to give outstanding customer service.
Customers can go in store or visit www.sainsburys.co.uk until 4th June to nominate their favourite colleague. A Sainsbury's judging panel will then select a shortlist who will all be invited to a company awards ceremony in Birmingham on September 15th where the overall winner will be announced.
Last year more than four thousand Sainsbury's customers voted for store staff up and down the country with two eventual winners being selected. Urmila Parbhu from Sainsbury's Alperton store in Wembley and Diane Usher from the Wantage store shared the title. Urmila was selected for her continued kindness and support to elderly customers, and Diane for saving the life of a customer who fell ill in store.
Eddie Worth, Sainsbury's Hempstead Valley store manager added: "Your Sainsbury's Star was a really popular initiative with our customers last year and is a great way for us to honour the time and enthusiasm our colleagues give to their work every day. Some of the stories last year were truly inspirational and have encouraged colleagues from Sainsbury's Hempstead Valley to really interact with customers and find out what's important for them. I think this award can make a huge difference to our customer service as well as to the colleagues themselves."
