Hempstead Valley has been a key part of the community of Medway and north Kent for over 30 years and has always welcomed local charities into the centre to help with their fundraising activities. For a number of years Hempstead Valley has been proud supporters of the Medway Messenger Christmas charity campaigns including ‘Help the Homeless' tin appeal and ‘Blood Donor' appeal.
Mark Rumfitt, Hempstead Valley centre manager said, "The Medway Messenger's Christmas appeal 2009 ‘Share a Smile' at Christmas has specifically highlighted that CPC Kent relies almost entirely on donations and fundraising events to stay open. I understand they have a target of raising £300,000 for their Smiley steps centre."
Earlier in the year CPC Kent visited Hempstead Valley to raise awareness of the services it offers. As part of the Medway Messenger appeal we wanted to donate a few items to CPC Kent with the hope that these could be raffled or auctioned off to raise funds for the charity and to further publicise the fantastic work CPC Kent provides to the community of Medway and Kent."
