Sing your favourite carols with school children from local schools and members of local churches, accompanied by the Medway Band.
Hempstead Valley welcomes all ages and faiths to this traditional carol concert. Please note that the centre will be open exclusively for the carol concert with all stores closed during the event.
Last year over 300 people filled the mall outside M&S inside the shopping centre to sing a programme of traditional favourites. Parents, relatives and guests will be as usual welcomed by Rev Allan Smith of the New Life Community Church, Gillingham.
The Deputy Mayor and Mayoress of Medway, Councillor Ray and Mrs Buffy Maisey, will be attending the Carol Concert.
The Medway Band will be playing outside the centre (close to Argos main entrance) throughout the day on Sunday 11th December.
Su Button, Marketing Manager said, "This year’s Carol Concert was once again as popular as ever and we know that many of our customers look forward to our traditional Christmas events. This year, Clare Scholes of The Stage Theatre Group stole the show with her amazing voice. Other highlights of the concert included the children from Deanwood Primary School, singing their Christmas songs and all the children that beautifully sang ‘Away in a manger’.
Guests including the Deputy Mayor and Mayoress, Councillor Ray and Mrs Buffy Maisey and Rehman Chishti MP took the time to talk to The Medway Band and the local churches that participated. The carol concert continues to prove to be a great example of how the local community comes together to share in the spirit of Christmas."
