Hempstead Valley Farmers' Market

The Farmers' Market
Hempstead Valley Farmers' Market - Sunday 12th September 2010
Outside in Green car park from 10am to 2pm. This event is held on the second Sunday of every month.

Mark Rumfitt, Centre Manager said, "The Hempstead Valley Farmers' Market celebrates its 4th birthday, having started in September 2006. Since then its popularity has grown and it is very popular with both our local producers and our customers. We've had excellent feedback from our customers who particularly like the variety of high quality local produce on sale."

He added: "A key aspect of the market, are the controls in place that ensure that the majority of the produce is from Kent, thus supporting local farmers. The Hempstead Valley Farmers' Market is a member of Produced in Kent and we work with them to help raise the profile of everything produced in the Garden of England."

To celebrate the Farmers' Market 4th birthday, alongside the market on Sunday 12th September, Hempstead Valley will be holding an inaugural ‘Festival of Transport' event. One of the main attractions to the finale of the event will be the classic car show, with up to 100 vehicles on display in Green car park.

The Festival of Transport event runs from 10th to 12th September. On Friday and Saturday the star of the show will be an original Chitty Chitty Bang Bang! This car bears the famous number plate GEN II and was used in the 1968 Hollywood film.  On Saturday and Sunday two more original star cars will be on display at Hempstead Valley - a Back to the Future Delorean and Del Boy's Reliant Regal Van. Both these vehicles can usually only be seen in a car museum, but they will be making a rare appearance at our Festival of Transport event. Admission is free.
