Hempstead Valley Shopping Centre held its annual Carol Concert on Sunday 10 December 2006.  Visitors to the centre were able to join in with the concert after the stores had closed. The service was lead by Allan Smith with music provided by KM Medway Band. The crowd gathered to sing traditional Christmas carols including Once in Royal David’s City and O Little Town of Bethlehem. Children from Deanwood Primary Education Technology School sang two Christmas songs.  Su Button, Marketing Executive said: “We put out over 100 chairs for guests and these were taken within minutes.  We had lots of people standing as well.  We dimmed the main lights and effect of the decorations and festive lights really added to the atmosphere.  Many people who had been to previous concerts told me it was the best they’ve been to.”
